Doctors warn about the growing number of cases of dangerous sexually transmitted infection, which hardly anyone knows it is there, and that can leave consequences not only on the genitals, but also jeopardize fertility.

Have you heard of mycoplasma? If not, know that you are not alone. Even doctors are not too familiar with these microbes. Unfortunately, it is transmitted through sex, and among many who have mycoplasma the symptoms are insidious and cannot be recognized until it’s too late.

This is usually followed by bleeding from the vagina, pain in the testicles, a discharge from the penis and pain around the genital area, especially during sex.
It is assumed that about one percent of people in developed countries are infected with this bacterium. In women it is often manifested by painful sex, irregular vaginal bleeding, infertility and ectopic pregnancy, and men consequences of infection are milder, but not safe.

– Usually gives no symptoms and leads to inflammation of the vagina, cervix, uterus, can spread and lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, which is manifested by inflammation of the uterus and ovaries. Symptoms are similar in Chlamydia.

In men:
  • Usually manifested in urethritis, an inflammation of uric tube with:
  • Itching or burning sensation in the urethra with mucous yellowish discharge from the penis, which usually occurs only in the morning in the form of a drop.
  • In addition it may lead to inflammation of the prostate, and epididymis. They (the agents) have the ability to attach to the sperm because these lose their mobility and vitality, which is a cause of reduced opportunity for fertilization of the egg-procreation.
Mycoplasma is very common but under-explored sexually transmitted disease caused by microorganisms that have features of bacteria and occur in the urethra and reproductive system.

A study published in 2007 shows that the infection caused by the bacteria mycoplasma exceeded the number of gonorrhea cases, and now has become the third most common sexually transmitted disease among the young.

Among adolescents who participated in the study 4.2 percent were infected with Chlamydia, 2.3 percent to 1 percent mycoplasma and 0.4 percent with gonorrhea.
