Fried Mushrooms: A Recipe That Will Make You Forget All About Meat
Mushrooms are an excellent substitute for meat, whether you’re a vegetarian or just want to take a break from the consumption of food of animal origin. Fried, sauce, salad, baked, or even raw, mushrooms are always great, but with this recipe, be sure that meat amnesia is guaranteed.
Ingredients:
- 400 grams of bread crumbs
- 100 grams of flour
- 150 ml of milk
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- dozen large mushrooms
- oil for frying
- salt and pepper as desired
- 6 tablespoons of chopped parsley
Preparation:
For preparing this mushroom dish, first you need to take the parsley and the bread crumbs and mix them nicely in the blender. You need to blend them together until you get a fine milled mixture, and then you need to add salt and pepper in order to improve the taste.
Make sure that you wash and dry well the parsley before mixing it with the bread.
Then you need to take a bowl and you need to put the milk in it. Next thing you need to do is add the lemon juice and let it stay like that for about ten minutes.
Then you need to clean the mushrooms and cut them into slices that are about one centimeter thick.
Next thing you need to do is take three bowls. In the first bowl you need to put the flour, in the second one you need to put the milk and the lemon and in the third one put the breadcrumbs. Then you need to take the mushrooms and dip them first in the flour then in the milk and finally in the breadcrumb and parsley mixture.
Fry these mushrooms in a preheated pan for about three minutes, until the mushrooms get the crispy golden-brown crust.
You can serve these fried mushrooms with a mayonnaise based sauce to which you can add a tablespoon of mustard, pickles pieces, onion, red pepper and a little bit of lemon juice.
