You Can Never Imagine What Nails Can Tell About Your Health.

The nails are able to tell you for how long you have been sick because the illness actually tempers its growth. It will take the fingernails 6 months to grow completely and the toenails one year. The condition of the nails will indicate different illnesses, thus you need to check them on regular basis.
Along with the mouth, the nails can show that the body has some deficiencies and disorders.
- Split, flexible, and brittle nails – this may appear because of too much pressure during manicure or excessive acrylic nails usage. This may also indicate vitamin A deficiency;
- White spots – this might be a result of calcium or protein deficiency, allergic reactions, or fungal disease;
- Dramatic yellow tinged nails – this is due to a fungal disease, smoking, or excessive usage of dark mail polishes;
- Nail clubbing – this denotes lung disease;
- Cark vertical bands on the nails – this might be a presence of benign moles in the nail bed and if the band continues darkening you will need to visit a dermatologist;
- Spoon nails – they appear scooped out and suggest iron deficiency, but in rare cases, it may include heart disease or underactive thyroid gland;
- Splinter hemorrhages – this is due to small blood clots that run vertical under the nails and can be associated with different disorders on the connective tissue. In many cases it can be caused by trauma;
- Pitted nails – this results due to nail plate and is common with connective tissue disorders, mostly skin disorders.
How to treat your nails?
Use a hand lotion to moisturize the nails, making sure you moisturize the cuticles as well.
Help the nails grow stronger using a protective layer of nail hardener.
Crop the nails down as if you do that straight across and round the tips in a curve fashion is the best way and the most hygienic.
Keep the nails clean and dry as the wet ones will accumulate bacteria. If there is a prolonged contact with water it can weaken your nails further.
