If Your Child Comes Home With This Candy, Call 911 Immediately. Here’s Why!
Law enforcement officials in South Carolina are warning parents about an influx of marijuana-infused candies.
Fox Carolina reported that during a recent traffic stop in Florence County, police officers discovered a truck full of these candies – laced with THC, the psychoactive chemical compound found in marijuana.
THC also connects with receptors on nerve cells in other parts of the brain. When those parts of the brain affect thinking, memory, coordination, and concentration, it can cause unwanted side effects, including:
- difficulty thinking and problem solving
- problems with memory and learning
- loss of coordination
- distorted perception
If a child was to take the substance, the side effects could be very dangerous and threatening to their health, possibly even their life…
Police warned that the candies are virtually indistinguishable from brand-name sweets, so parents NEED to be on the lookout for these in the image below.
They said that the candies were produced in Colorado, where medical marijuana use is legal. They noted it is illegal, however, to possess or transport those products outside of Colorado.
Parents need to be on the lookout for these sweets, I mean, imagine if you found YOUR child eating them.
According to the labels, the candy is stated to contain approximately 100 mg of THC. This is a pretty high dosage, meaning the side effects could be very harmful if the disguised candies were eaten by a child.
Deputies are urging parents to be aware that these products are turning up in South Carolina and to report any suspicious candies to local law enforcement.
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS CANDY? If you have, you need to report it to the cops immediately.
