What Happens To Your Body When You Eat Kraft’s Boxed Mac And Cheese?

Every year, Kraft sells around 360 million boxes of their macaroni and cheese, making it one of the most widely known easy dinner foods around. Despite its popularity, it isn’t an especially safe or healthy food. For some, it’s downright dangerous!

Last year, 6.5 million boxes were recalled because of metal contamination. They received numerous complaints of metal in with the product. Gross!

On top of that, their mac and cheese contains yellow 5 and yellow 6 food coloring dyes. These dyes may sound harmless but they actually contain benizdene and other carcinogenic, cancer-causing chemicals. Those sensitive can experience damage to genetic information which causes cell mutations that lead to cancer.
One study conducted in 2012 on the toxicology of food dyes, “The inadequacy of much of the testing and the evidence for carcinogenicity, genotoxicity, and hypersensitivity, coupled with the fact that dyes do not improve the safety or nutritional quality of foods, indicates that all of the currently used dyes should be removed from the food supply and replaced, if at all, by safer colorings.”

There is a growing movement geared toward getting Kraft to ban the yellow dyes. Check out the campaign:
