Chemical Peel – A risky Rejuvenation Method, But With Amazing Benefits
What is a Chemical Peel ?
The name of the peeling procedure comes from the English “peel off”. A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve the appearance of the skin. Namely, a chemical solution applied to the skin causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. So, the regenerated skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
Peeling definitely ranks first among rejuvenation methods. We can all agree that the new, rejuvenated complexion looks amazing. Stains disappear, the complexion brightens, the color is uniform, pores shrink and wrinkles are erased.
By peeling can be treated various aspects given by aging process, such as:
- Wrinkles,
- Skin discoloration (as melasma),
- Acne scars,
- Dilated pores.
Peeling can be superficial, medium or deep. Choosing the proper one depends on:
- Skin color,
- Skin defects,
- Skin area,
- A season (the possibility of avoiding sun exposure).
Note: Chemical peels should be done only by dermatologists who are specially trained in this procedure!
They know the skin reaction and all the injuries which are a risk for proper healing. So, they can properly decide what kind of peeling is required and how a too reactive skin area can be treated.
