According to a research, conducted by the Pew Internet Project, some 44% of cell owners have slept with their phone next to their beds. However, this seemingly harmless habit can be fatal.
The NYPD is telling New Yorkers they may want to change their habits: Leaving a cell phone on under a pillow or between bedclothes all night can cause it to overheat and catch fire, as this phone did. (Twitter photo).

“Don’t put your cell phone under a pillow when sleeping or when charging your device,” the NYPD warned in a Tweet.

Precisely, always ensure that the device has adequate ventilation and air flow. Covering the device with bedding, your body, thick clothing or any other materials that significantly affect air flow may affect the performance of the device and poses a possible risk of fire or explosion, which could lead to serious body injuries or damage to property.
