Spreading of a New Sexually Transmitted Infection … Hundreds Of People Are Already Infected

Mycoplasma Genitalium is rare autoimmune conditionthat affects the muscles. Its symptoms are hidden and it can be transferred through sexual contact. Because of that, a lot of people who have been infected with Mycoplasma are not even aware of it.

The most common symptoms are: pain in the testicles, vaginal bleeding, a discharge from the penis and pain around the genital region, especially while having sex. The consequences of the incurable infection are even worse.

Doctors assumed that about 1 % of the population is infected with this bacteria. When it comes to women, it’s mostly manifested by irregular vaginal bleeding, painful sex, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy, while in men,the consequences of this infection are minor.

Mycoplasma is frequent sexually transmitted disease, but still it’s not explored sufficiently. It is caused by microorganisms that have features of bacteria and occur in the reproductive system and urethra.

The term Mycoplasma actually refers to a group of bacteria which includes more than 70 different species but only few of them which are present in the human body are certainly determined to cause infection and disease in humans.

According to a study published in 2007, this infection is caused by various cases. The bacteria Mycoplasma genitalium seems to have exceeded the gonorrhea and this infection,among the young people,has become the third most common sexually transmitted disease.

Among adolescents who took part in the study of health inAmerica, it was shown that 1 % with Mycoplasma,4,2 %were infected with chlamydia, 2,3 % with Trichomonasand 0,4 % with gonorrhea.

The latest report from the UK showed similar results. According to this report, not only the young people are in danger, people in the middle age can also be infected. Still, the consequences of this infection are far worse.
