You Can Use This Instead Of Dryer Sheets!?! You Won’t Believe It Until You Try It!

Dryer sheets have become something we all use to eliminate the static from our clothes, but lately there has been a growing concern about their safety. Some say they’re toxic, others they’re not environmentally safe, and many just don’t like the smell they leave behind. But taking out a load of static-charged laundry is no fun at all and trying to hang your clothes while they’re buzzing with static is almost impossible. Having no other alternative we use the dryer sheets when we have to.
Having dealt with this dilemma myself more than once, I started an Internet quest to find out if there is a better alternative for dryer sheets and how to remove static without resorting to chemical laden solutions. Imagine my surprise when I read about this cheap and effective solution people were using to amazing results.

Aluminum foil balls!

Can you believe that all you need is some aluminum foil, which is lying around somewhere in the kitchen, and you can say good bye to static electricity.

My first concern was is it safe to put aluminum foil in the dryer, and upon thorough research I concluded that it really is, the dryer’s exhaust hose is foil, so nothing to worry about there. Then, I wondered if it’s environmentally safe? Well, it turns out that you can use the same tin foil ball for up to a year, so that’s much safer than the dryer sheets we dispose of after every load. And my problem was solved; I found the perfect, safe and affordable solution for static electricity.
How exactly does this work?

For better results, instead of making tin foil balls, I use old tennis balls and wrap them in tin foil. They have a double effect, removing static and getting fluffier clothes. This also cuts down on the drying time. You just need a couple of aluminum foil sheets for each ball, make sure you use enough foil because it may get peeled off in the dryer. Wrap the long tin foil sheets around the tennis ball, you can use some duct tape to keep it in place at the end and put them inside the dryer. You can use 2-4 balls, depending on how full the dryer is, but this is guaranteed to make your clothes static free. When the dryer finishes you’ll notice the balls are much smoother. You can use the same balls multiple times up to a year.
