Why You Should Avoid Sitting With Your Legs Crossed!

Sitting with your legs crossed longer than half an hour is very bad for your back, warn German doctors.
If you sit with your legs crossed than it’s certainly better to change their position after some time: put the one leg which is up – down and otherwise, explains German orthopedist Reinhard Schneiderhan, president of the Association which promotes the spinal health, situated in Munich.
The most important thing when you sit with your legs crossed is to change the position of your legs, emphasized Schneiderhan. He refuses to give the usual advices that you should sit as upright as you can, with your look straight ahead of you and your buttocks attached to the bottom part of the chair.
No one can keep that position for a long time because he/she will feel a kind of tension quickly, says Schneiderhan. In the end, people aren’t created for sitting, but complete avoidance of that position isn’t the most practical option of all.
