This is What Happens When You Dunk a McDonald’s Cheeseburger in Stomach Acid [VIDEO]

There are some gross processes that go on in the gut during the processing of foods while it is digesting. Think back to the “Super Size Me” documentary where they burgers in a container and let them get moldy and rotten. If you were to take a McDonald’s cheeseburger and dunk it in stomach acid, you would see what exactly happens inside our stomachs when we eat them.

The University of Nottingham had a team of researchers who filled a container with hydrochloric acid solution. This is a chemical in our stomachs that aids in the digestive process. Researchers then dipped a burger in it for 3 1/2 hours.

The results were messy, as the burger turned into a black sludge. Hydrochloric acid breaks down food early on in the stages of digestion. What this means is that one of the first things that McDonald’s cheeseburgers do when reaching the stomach is turn into a goopy mess. The results are just disgusting.
That good ‘ol warm McDonald’s cheeseburger won’t taste quite as good when you see what your stomach does to it in the stomach. Broken down components either give us energy or make us fat. A cheeseburger from McDonald’s won’t digest the fats. It’ll just be more disgusting in your gut.
